The Frederick Wills Life on the Land Film Festival

The RASQ is thrilled to announce that it will be holding the inaugural Frederick Wills Life On the Land Film Festival this year at the 2017 Toowoomba Royal Show.

People living in remote and regional Australia are invited to submit short films of up to 5 minutes duration to show us what your life is like in rural and remote Australia.

The festival is non-competitive and is run across 3 categories - Primary School, Secondary School and Open - and a selection of the films received will be screened at the 2017 Toowoomba Royal Show.

Films can be shot on anything from a mobile phone to a professional camera and can be dramatic, comic - documentary - whatever you like - we want to give you the chance to show city folk what your life is like.

The festival is named after Toowoomba photographer and film maker Frederick Wills who shot the first moving pictures in Queensland in 1899, including scenes of wheat harvesting on the Darling Downs.

Films can be posted on memory stick or DVD to the RASQ at the address below - so get filming - we can't wait to see what you have to show us!
